02/04/2007 - The Planned Electronic Funds Transfer System
For all Payments above UGX 20 million, the Government has been advised to use either the Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) System, or the Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), which are more effi cient and safer methods of payment than the cheque system.

The process of developing functional specifi cations, awareness, data collection, change management, training and user acceptance testing is expected to be concluded at the end of June 2007. With effect from 2nd July 2007, all government payments above UGX 20 million will be effected using EFT.

TERMS OF REFERENCE FOR TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO STRENGTHEN THE INTERNAL AUDIT FUNCTION IN THE GOVERNMENT OF UGANDA
The Government has designed a Financial Management and Accountability Programme (FINMAP) as a successor program to the Second Economic and Financial Management Project [EFMP II]. The primary purposes of the FINMAP is to deepen and consolidate reforms in public financial management (PFM) aiming at further strengthening and sustaining accountability and transparency in public expenditure management, improving governance, and maximising the Government's efforts towards poverty eradication.
