MINISTRY OF FINANCE DONATES TO ST. TERESA CHILDREN’S HOME

The Directorate of Debt and Cash policy has donated an assortment of items to St. Teresa Children’s home in Najjanankubi as part of the corporate social responsibility activities to mark the National budget month for FY 2019/20.

The Acting Director Debt and Cash Directorate Maris Wanyera who led the staff said this activity stands as a mark stone in the change target #DoingMore by the Ministry of Finance to identify and support vulnerable members in communities such as abandoned children.

“I urge all parents, relatives and leaders in communities to always take full responsibility for God’s creation and collectively fight the actions that cause the vulnerabilities,” said the Director.

Nabukalu Damalie, the Manager St. Teresa babies said this home was inaugurated in October 2018 and has 32 children aged between 1 to 3 years. The babies’ home is funded by Friends of charity and volunteers.

Most of the abandoned children delivered by Police to the home are Karamojongs.
