Chinese Investor set to Build a New Industrial Park in Lusenke Kayunga District

The State Minister of Finance for Privatization and Investment Hon. Evelyn Anite received a delegation of investors from China led by Mr. Paul Zhang, the lead developer of Tian-Tang Mbale Industrial Park and other investment plants in Uganda.


 Mr. Paul Zhang is an industrial investor and a developer in Uganda focusing on building and managing industrial parks like Mbale and Mbalala industrial parks attracting international investors from China. These factories are manufacturing products like mattresses, electronics, household goods and mobilizing investors from China to come and invest in our economy.

Hon. Evelyn Anite  appreciated the effort of Mr.Paul Zhang the proprietor of Mbale industrial park for the magnitude of investment and his continuous effort of mobilizing investors to come and invest  in Uganda. She said the President has offered him over 1200 acres of land in Lusenke Kayunga district for more investment.

“Our vision is not just to dream about the $500 billion economy but to turn this dream into reality. We are looking at practical investments that will transform our economy and create opportunities for Ugandans," she said.
The Minister noted that government is planning to begin several key projects such as solar energy plant and a chemical manufacturing factory.

She said these projects are real steps towards industrial growth with intention to create over 200,000 jobs linked to Lusenke- Kayunga industrial park over the next few years especially for the young graduates and trained engineers since Uganda is blessed with many skilled graduates.
 

She further said that government identified key priority areas such as Agro-industrialization, Tourism, Mineral-based Industrialization, Science, Technology and Innovation which provide strong opportunities for value addition, job creation, and export growth.

Lusenke Kayunga industrial park is strategically located near a hydro power station for reliable power supply, creating a vision to build factories with a complete ecosystem, with schools, hospitals, and shopping facilities to support workers and their families. 

The Minister called upon Ugandans to support Mr. Zhang and all other investors that have come to invest in Uganda.

The Deputy General Manager of Shenzhen Mingyang Technology Company in China that specialize in production of battery storage solutions in Mr. Lu Wei said that, the company is looking forward to set base in Uganda to begin providing solutions to factories and industrial power systems to ensure stable energy supply.
