Namanve Industrial Park Monitoring Visit

The Permanent Secretary and Secretary to the Treasury (PSST), Ramathan Ggoobi accompanied by Uganda Investment Authority team led by the Director General Mukiza Robert and Ministry of Finance officials visited and toured Namanve Industrial Park to assess progress of the ongoing construction of infrastructure such as roads and the drainage system.

The completion of this project has been extended from September 2025 to 30th December 2026 to ensure that all challenges causing the delays are fully addressed.

The PSST said all the industrial park infrastructure must be completed as planned during this extension period because no more extension will be granted beyond 2026. He asked the technical teams at Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) and Ministry of Finance to ensure that all pending issues are addressed.

Ggoobi also asked his team to organize a meeting with all stakeholders implementing projects such as the Standard gauge railway (SGR), Bukasa port and Kampala-Jinja expressway to sequence their activities in a manner which does not affect the completion of industrial park project.

Uganda Investment Authority has already compensated the project affected persons and the contractor (Lagan Dott Namanve Ltd) has full access to the entire industrial park.

The Director General Uganda Investment Authority expressed the commitment of his authority to make this park a Centre of industrialization, job creation and economic transformation, adding that the completion of the on-going infrastructure projects including roads, drainage and power will attract investors, boost their investor confidence and reduce the cost of doing business.
